Preparation Wood must be dry (moisture content below 12 %), solid, absorbent, clean, free of resin and dust. Brush large-pored wood such as oak, ash, chestnut, elm, mahogany or teak carefully, to clean pore grooves. Sand gradually up to 240 grain, for oak use 180 grain.

Application Stir thoroughly before use. Remove possible skin formed on surface. Depending on surface requirements, absorbency and type of wood: Apply 1 to 3 thin coats, until a surface layer has developed. Polish the excess oil approximately 3 minutes after applying the first coat with a lint-free cloth. Sand after the 1st coat with 280 grain.

Final treatment For surfaces treated with KUNOS Natural Oil Sealer No. 244 or ARDVOS Universal Wood oil No. 266. Prepare by sanding with 280 grain. Apply then as per application above.

Cleaning Use TRENA pH-Neutral Cleaner No. 556 diluted with water (add max. of 10 ml diluted in 10 l of water), and wipe it with a moist, but not wet cloth. By every 4th of 5th cleaning process, use GLANOS Natural Liquid Wax Cleaner No. 559 instead of TRENA in the washwater. Do after-care with KUNOS Floor Maintenance No. 1862, when the surface looks matt. Alternatively is the KUNOS Maintenance No. 1893 also suitable.

Care Maintenance should be carried out according to usage. As a rule once or twice annually. Prepare the surface by sanding with 280 grain sandpaper, then rub or polish a thin coat of KUNOS Countertop Oil No. 243. The surface should have a uniformed glow after the treatment, if not, repeat the caring process.

Important tips The open time during the application can be extended by adding up to 10% of SVALOS Spray Thinner No. 292. For glued crosscut wood, observe a treated test area for two days before completing application, as certain adhesives may dissolve. Adhesives and glues have to be completely dry before the surface can be treated with KUNOS.
